Meeting with Illustrator

Had a meeting last night with an illustrator friend of mine regarding a graphic novel project that I am working on. Unfortunately he will not be able to help me as his style is not suitable for the story I am wanting to tell, or how I am wanting to tell it He suggested, with my background, that I should have a go at doing the illustrations myself, which I may well do now.
Although disappointed that he will not be able to help me on the illustrating side of the project, I came out of the meeting feeling VERY positive and wanting to discuss this with more people now. I cannot do this until I have something concrete down on paper rather than try to explain the myriad of ideas that are threatening to explode out of my brain and through my ears to totally ruin my shiny MacBook…
So, over the next few days I plan to write a background story for the mythology I am trying to create, with hopefully something concrete by this weekend!
Then next week (Wednesday) I go into hospital for an operation, nothing too serious, but it is the third time I have had the same surgery now. It is only an overnight stay, but the last time I had this they kept me in another night becasue I bled so badly afterwards. This time I hope that it will not be so bad…and hopefully less messy
After this operation I will be out of action for about two weeks, laid up in bed for most of it, plenty of time for me to do some writing I hear you cry…well, we shall see.
I have stopped my blogster blog now too, all blogs from now on will be wordpress, including any Dark Star blogs…so watch this space…

Simon, in answer to your question about linking my blog to yours, all I meant was that I had made a comment in your blog whilst logged in to wordpress, rather than with my artificialkid tag. This means that when somebody now clicks on my name in that comment, it brings them here to my blog. Likewise, you weren’t signed into wordpress when you left hyour comment on my last post and so, when people click on your name, it will take them to whichever website you put in when you left the comment, ie your photography home page.
I also have another blog over at blogger ( martincoles.blogspot.com/ ) which is the home of my studio blog. I started this on the premise that for every day in 2008 I was going to paint a canvas and sell it online. This, however, never took off as my workload became too great for me to be able to take the time out to do this, unfortunately.
I then forgot the password details and stumbled across wordpress which, to me, has a much better interface and is more intuitive than blogger. So I signed up here with this blog but even this has taken a back seat as work and real life have become overloaded.
So, since I have remember my blogger details, I am now blogging in two places, ostensibly about the same things in each….what should I do? Ditch one and continue in the other or keep both going and blog about different things?
In theory I could blog in one and create a link in the other…or setup my twitter so that I blog in wordpress, which updates twitter, which then sends a message to blogger…oh and facebook too
In this world of the ‘paperless’ office I seem to be filling it up digitally instead and creating much more of a mess!
On top of all this, I have a project in mind that I would like to start blogging about and think that perhaps I should keep it separate from all of the above, to avoid confusion and mixing my personal life with a business venture. I, of course, will tell you all in here about it when it launches, but of course I shall not point from ‘there’ to ‘here’.
the dark star is coming…
