Rugby World Cup 2011 – Wales versus France (#RWC2011 #Wales #France)

It’s been a while since I’ve written in here but I couldn’t let an opportunity like this slip by…

You’ll think I’m mad (perhaps) and I don’t like counting my chickens before they hatch…
BUT
In case you do have any pre match nerves, jitters or doubts about tomorrows win for Wales, here are some indisputable facts;

RWC 2011 the story so far:

So on average (i.e. divide the above figures by 5…):

Therefore by the laws of probability(?) (subtracting the above figures – the clever amongst you can confirm the math i’m sure):

    Average
  11pt winning margin to Wales?
or 13pt losing margin for France? 12pt winning margin to Wales

2 more tries scored by Wales?
or 1 more try conceded by France 1 try more scored by Wales

15 more tackles made by Wales
or 21 more tackles missed by France 18 more tackles made by Wales

or 6% more scrums won by France
or 3% more lineouts won by France

Whichever way you look at it Wales should win… as long as we try to avoid scrums and line outs… ermmm… yes, moving on…!

And as for the "which France will turn up?" question…

  • Is that the one that lost to NZ or the one that lost to Tonga? ;0)
  • The only quarter finalist to get thru with less than 3 wins…?
  • The team to qualify with the lowest points difference of all 8 QF (28)?
  • The only country to get through the group stages because of the Bonus Points system? (8pts + 3BP as opposed to Tonga with 8pts + 1BP)
  • Or of course it could perhaps be the France that had to play such majestic rugby to overcome the mighty England, lest we should forget…!?

England… ah yes… what a great team France had to get past there…

…the team that won their group with the lowest points difference of all eight qualifiers other than Argentina or Ireland (both already out) or ermmm who else was it… oh yes FRANCE!

I rest my case for a Welsh victory M’lord!

DISCUSS!

It’s Good to Touch

…the green, green grass of home.

You can’t beat the feeling that you get (as a welshman) when you see those two rising towers of the (second) Severn Crossing when you have been away for more than, ooh I dunno, say an hour…

The only downside is that you then have to rifle through your pockets for the loose change (will they ever just have it as a round bloody figure?) and that the Celtic Manor (resort) is only a few bends in the motorway away…groan…what an uninspiring sight, especially as a Welsh architect(uraldesigner).

Anyway, yes, I am home safe and sound and (fairly) happy.

It is late now though so won’t write much other than to say that tomorrow I have an interview with another architectural firm and that my writing targets (for Dark Star) have been based around a 1st September start, and that is tomorrow…

So I guess tomorrow will see the launch of the first details regarding Dark Star…I bet you can’t wait can you? *yawn* LOL
